Death of Skandagupta
Skandagupta was a great leader of the Gupta Empire. Under his reign the Gupta Empire flourished. They had a very strong military and were capable of holding off unfriendly invaders. But after the death of Skandagupta, weak leaders followed him.Thcse leaders were not capable of holding on to the great empire and it began to suffer. -

Invasion of Huns
The Gupta Empire was mainly run by the powerful leader of Skandagupta. After the death of Skandagupta, the successors were weaker. They were weakened by the Huns invasions. This lead to a weaker military. It was a main reason of the decline of the Gupta Empire. -
Christianity
The spread of Christianity appealed to the middle and lower classes. The upper classes, however, questioned Christianity and its loyalty to Rome. This began arguments between the classes. -
Failing Economy and High Inflation
The failing economy of Rome was due to the split of Rome into two different empires. The Eastern ermpire prosperred. It had rich soil and lots of resources. The Western empire suffered. It had small amounts of iron mining but suffered greatly from the split. -
Economic Inequality
A religious belief during the Han Dynasty was Daoism. Daoism made money unimportant to the everyday man. But eventually some people started profitting more from their business. Some of the small farmers were forced into slavery. A law was provided to help the poor but it left out the laws of the Mandate of Heaven. This became a controversial argument throughout the Han Dynasty.
