Architecture Pathway 2010-14

  • In The Beginning..

My first day of school was a scary one. New place, New classes, New challenges to overcome, and New experiences that I will never forget.
  • Architecture?

    Architecture?
I took a class based on architecture that my mom made me take because she wanted me to have a successful career. I didn’t care too much about it.
  • That was fun!

    That was fun!
After a full year of Architecture I found out that I am good at it and it grabbed my attention. I saw that this could actually be a career that I may want to follow and I would stick with it the next year.
  • Am i Creative?

    Am i Creative?
The second year of taking architecture was going to be very different. I was given a plan and told to recreate it but put my own design and my own imagination onto it. Thus was going to be challenging.
  • Hmmmm maybe not....

The design aspect to the house was great I was comfortable enough with the program to be able to design the house to my liking, but the interior design aspect was the challenging part for me. I had trouble picking colors out for the walls and the different color themes.
  • Am i a people person?

This year in Architecture we are focusing on a group project. I will need to work with other kids that are equally or better than me in architecture and collaborate on one single project. I usually prefer to work alone but I will have to leave my element in order to finish this project.
  • Residential designing!

    Residential designing!
My group consisted of 5 "architects". We decided to design a residential neighborhood in order to show our own creativity. This was challenging because we would have to do each house our own way but keep it similar to the rest at the same time...
  • Unforgettable group of People!

    Unforgettable group of People!
The four other "architects" I worked with were one of the best people I could have ever been grouped with. We finished our project on time and it was great. We all contributed evenly and we all collaborated to create something that we could all be proud of. I couldn’t believe everything that I was finding out about myself. I could never imagine working with the same people day after day for a year. This class was teaching me a lot, Not only about architecture but about myself as well.
  • Go big or go home!

    Go big or go home!
I am now in my senior year and my teacher said I will have to do a senior project. Since I have made up my mind about sticking with Architecture I decided to do that for it. I decided to take on a huge task that I have never done before. I was doing something way out of my comfort zone. I would be designing a career tech building addition to Etowah High School that would be solely run on Green Environmentally friendly energy.
  • Certified!

    Certified!
After 4 years of taking the Architecture elective i becasme certified on Revit AutoDesk (the programmed used by Architects.)
  • 99%

    99%
I finished my Senior Project and got a 99% on it! This made me feel great. I pulled off something I could only imagine pulling off. One of the best feelings in the world is to have a complete stranger review what I did, judge it without knowing the hard work I put in and saying I did great. It is one thing to say I’m good; it is another for a stranger to tell you that you’re good. This class has influenced me in so many ways and I’m thankful for it.
