    Chinese Civil War leading to Communism

    The war was fought between the Republic of China and the Communist Party of China. It resulted in the start of communism in China, the People's Republic of China established in the main land, and the Republic of China relocating to Taiwan. Although the war ended, there was no official peace treaty signed.
  • Creation of People's Republic of China (PRC)

    Chinese Communist Leader Mao Zedong declared the creation of PRC. This lead to a full scale Civil War between the Chinese Communist Party and The Nationalist Party. The creation of the Republic ultimately lead to the Chinese Communist Revolution.

    The Great Leap Forward

    The Great Leap Forward was Moa's attempt to Modernize China's economy so that by 1988, China would have a rivalled Economy with America. Ended in a catastrophe including millions of deaths. Ultimately it was a failure.

    China Splits with the Soviet Union

    The political and ideological relations between the PRC (People's Republic of China) and USSR (Union of Soviet Socialists Republic) during the Cold War were worsening. The split of the two Republics was a key event in the Cold War that helped build the framework for the Second Cold war and also the second war in Vietnam.

    Cultural Revolution

    After his failure in the Great Leap Forward, the Cultural Revolution was created by Mao to reassure his authority over the Chinese Government. He believed the communist party and others involved were taking China in the wrong direction. Mao closed schools, and wanted the children to harass the party members. The Revolution itself was very violent and many people died and were severly injured afterwards.
  • Red Guard Overthrows Provincial Party Committee

    Red guards achieved the overthrow of the Provincial Party Committee officials and replaced them with radicals who supported Mao and his decisions for the country. One of the big decisions decided among them was the decision to start the Cultural Revolution.
