On July first, there was a small group of people in Shanghai, who were studying the communist government. More and more people started to support this idea. This group paired up with the Nationalist(the main government). These two group hopefully working together in peace.

In 1927, the Communists and Nationalists were working together, but then the Nationalists turned on the Communists. Which is called White Terror. The Nationalists wanted to be their one own strong government, they didn't want anyone else with them, so they killed and purged mostly all of the Communists.

This revolution was taking place during WWII, the Japanese were invading parts of China. The Nationalists, they faced many problems, the Japanese coming in their country, and also the Communist party was starting to regain their power.

During this time period, there were many battles from this time, the Nationalists had to defend from the Japanese. This is where all the blood loss happened, many people died during this time.

The leaders of each party came together for a talk for peace. Chiang Kai-Shek, and Mao Zedong. They agreed on a unified democracy, although it was very tense. It didn't go all that well, and an all-out civil war started.

For about 2 years, the Communists and Nationalists have been fighting in an all out Civil War. The Communists have the upper hand in the war because they have all the weapons from the Japanese when they got pushed out. The Nationalists have been pushed back to Taiwan, beacuse they can't fight the Communists anymore. This is also where the blood shed all occured.

Now that the Nationalists are out of China. The Communists leader Mao Zedong, decided on making a new type of government. He made the PRC. From that day on, this has been China's government structure.
