Jian Jieshi defeats Mao's communists and the communists flee in "the Long March"

The Great Leap Forward

This time period was called the Great Leap Forward because this was when China's leaders were turning society into a communist group.

Mao Zedong death

On September 9, 1976, Mao Zedong died. Caused of death was a heart attack. After his death Hue Guofeng became Chairman of the party.
