    The Chinese were being bullied by other countries but its citizens and other politicians were getting fed up. A man by the name of Sun Yat-sen finally took a stand. He caused China to revolt and evolve into another government. The overthrow of the emperor began on October 8th, 1911 and ended on February 12th, 1912 when Pu Yi was forced to leave the throne

    Commnist Party seizes control of China
    The Communist party seizes control of China when Pu Yi, the last emperor of China, steps of his throne. This ended a nearly 300 year rule that Yi's family had had on China.

    The Chinese Communist Party was founded in 1921. It was celebrated by peasants and all other people because they recieved free land from the party.

    Jiang Jieshi defeated Mao Zedong in a Chinese Civil War. Jiang Jieshi believed Mao was ruling unfairly, and the conflicts caused a civil war. After their defeat, Mao's men marched 6,000 miles, with 74,000 of the 80,000 troops dying

    During WWII, Japan was trying to become a bigger world power. But they had one problem. They didn't have enough natural resources and instead had to import the materials. So during WWII, they took advantage of the war, and invaded China in hopes of securing land and the natural resources that came with it

    In July of 1937, the Japanese attacked the Chinese at the Marco Polo Bridge. Japanese warships flooded into China, and began taking over many cities. One of the cities they took over was Nanjing, when many civilians were killed and women were raped. This later became known as the rape of Nanjing.

    In February !942, Congress approved a $500 million dollar loan to China. President Roosevelt described the Chinese as one of the biggest allies that the U.S. would have in the war vs the Axis Powers
