Some believe this was a trick and person who think this is a trick that is true because who complain will get punish / re-education or kill because the person that not trust him is useless. -
The second 5 years plan Mao want to change China from agrarian to industry so he communes people together to share food share house and living together so when they will eat food will look like a canteen for saving money.Want China to be sufficient but the economy still drops and fail because of not enough food (famine) 18-45 million people die because of starving or kill.

In 1966-1976 Mao lost his power so he tried to get power back a little freedom for the population he uses his special army(The Red Guard) close schools so no education then no smart people because he just wants workers. He burned historical so young people will not know history and he brings old people to re-educate.

He dies on September nine 1976 at ages 82 in Beijing China but he already did a lot of his goals.
