    Nationalists and Communists, which is led by Mao Zedong, start to create a civil war due to their different opinion about how people think about leading the country like believing in only one leader (Nationalists) or democracy (Communists). The Nationalists started to attack the Communists so they have to retreat. This is when long march occurs. The communists were welcomed because the soldiers were respecting, pay for food and not destroying their crops.

    Both Nationalists and Communists now united to fight against Japan. This is because although they don't like each other, their main enemy is Japan so it is more important for them to unite and fight Japan. This makes China win the world war and be in the P5 that is built to bring peace to the world by giving them the power to veto any statements. This makes China one of the most powerful country in the world.

    After world War II, communist started to grow in the western world. They support communists in Chinese to grew. With this support, the Communists defeated the Nationalists so they need to move to Taiwan.

    Mao tries to industrialize China after lots of development of the world in World War II but it let to increased urbanization because of the lack of food and rise in industrial production. Also, the population rise so they were shortage of food, housing and consumer goods.

    Mao made an unusual request. He led the citizens to criticise the government. This is a trick because if someone criticizes them, they will force them into a labor camp for re-education or execution. In this campaign, about 300,000-550,000 criticize the government.
  • The great leap forward.

    He tries to make another 5 years plan. He wants to modernize China's economy by forcing the farmers to work in communes instead of themselves. They need to live and share everything together. He wants to free China from importing steel and machinery. He encouraged people to set up backyard steel furnaces so they can turn scrap metals into usable steels but it doesn't work. The economy experienced negative growth, people are starving and government kills people so 18-45 millions of people died.

    He lost his power after the great leap forward and regain it by cultural revolution. Young people support him and formed the red guard because most of them forgot what happened in the past so he tries to make them forgot forever by closed the schools and burned lots of dynasties treasures. Many older people were re-educated.

    Mao Tse-Tung died on 9th September of 1976 because of Parkinson's disease in Beijing, China. Left the bloody and Chaotic revolution towards the 20th Century in a history book.
