Chapter 1 (characters)
The characters are Leon,David,Hershel,Tsalig,Pezsa,and there maternal grandfather,Jacob Meyers,Moshe,and Channah. -
Chapter 1
It's about who Leon/Leib and how he went through the Holocaust.Also how close he was to his family,and how he had to move and he didn't see his father alot.Leon's mother had to get help from her parents. -
Chapter 1 Setting
The setting is Narewka, a rural village in northeastern Poland by the border with Belarus. -
Chapter 2 setting
The setting is Krakow where the family moved to when Leon's dad got a new job. -
Chapter 2
Leon's father had saved up enough money to move the family to Krakokw.They got on a train which took 4 hours and got to Krakow at 11:00.Hershel had his own place and a girlfriend.Then,Leon and his brothers started shool. -
Chapter 2 1st Rising Action 1938-1939
The Nazis and Aolph Hitler with Germany start war on the Jews.The Germans start to raid on Jews by burning down Jewish property and beating them and killing them.This was known as the Night of Broken Glass.Later on Hershel and Dad left the family tearfully. -
Chapter 2 review
The kids start school and Heder school,a school for the Jewish.Then the Germans start being considerate of the Jews and started forced labor on them.It leaves the Jews tho start to leave Poland.Over 17,000 of them left. -
Chapter 3 Review
father and the only thing they found was the Gestapo.Leon went up to the police to confront them and found out he was in ST.Michael prison.Then Moshe,there father was released from prison a few wekks ago. -
Chapter 3 Review
It was a day where Leon went to school.Not anymore!The Germans/Nazi said that Jewish people couldn't go to school.Not only that.Not only that,he lost his friends.He felt like they betrayed him.Or like nothing happened. -
Chapter 3 Review
One night the Gestapo burst into Leon's family's house.They found out from their neighbors when they were mad at the Gestapo and said that they were Jews and so were their neighbors.When Moshe tried to fend them off,it only made them even more mad.They beat their father until he was bloody and dragged him out of the house,and it was right and it was rigt in front of the kids.The next day David and Leon went to find their father.The only thing that Leon found was the Gestapo who beated their fat -
Chapter 4 Review
The Nazis said that the Jews had to stay in a place called the ghetto,which is in Southern Krakow.When Leon's family got there,there was already another family there.So both families had to share a one bedroom. -
Chapter 4 Review 1941
Leon's father Moshe finally got a job from Oskar Schindler.He was the guy that Moshe cracked his safe.When he started he was fed lunch but not dinner or breakfest.Also, he had brought home some food or coal for the kids. -
Chapter 5 Review
The Leyon's family are still living in the ghetto with Luftigs.Mr Luftis son is living in New York .Meanwhile !5,000 people are jammeed in place where only 5,000 people can live so people have to share with other families.In Leon's spare time , He does shows with his friends. -
Chapter 5 Review 1941-1942
The Gestapo or the German secret police are forcing or volunteering that the Jewish can leave the ghetto and go to a place called the ''countryside"Mr Luftigs suggest tha he goes and leaves the family behind.After he left he left behind sonething of his that was precious.Leon's family stays behind because they thought it was safe for them to stay.For the people who volunteer to go to the countryside don't know that they are being sentenced to there deaths. -
Chapter 5 Review
After the Gestapo had helped the Jewish onto the streets,Leon didn't know there would be a train.once the Jewish people got there ,they found put it was a concentration camp where people are getting gasked.Then Tsalig was arrested because he wasn't working for a person who doesn't own a job by the Nazi.Hewas taken away and put on the train with the other Jewish.people.Once he before he left Miriam waas with him and so was Oskar.Osakr was trying to get Tsalig out of the car but didn't want to lea -

Chapter 6 Review
In the first part of the story,they're shots ringing.While the shots were ringing,Leon and his friend Yossel were helping a elderly woman on a stretcher to the ghetto infirmary..After they both heard,they headed home the next morning.Leon had started to cry after what had just happened. -
Chapter 6 part 1
After the shots everybody didn't go home.One of them was Pesza,who stayed at her job at the factory.Then there was a second gunshots that had been killing people,so Leon and Mr Bircz sons,Yossel and Samuel went into hiding in a small 10 in. shed.while Chanah ws grabbing a tea pot for them.After it was all over,a man who said that he knew moshe called out for.them out of so they did.While Chanah and Leon was talking to the man,Yossel and Samuel went to go lokking fro their mother but couldn't f -

Chapter 6 Review
When that was all over,the Nazis had liquidated the entire ghetto to where people had to move into Ghetto A in Plaskow.,including Leon and his mother.It was hard fro them because they couldn't find a place to live,When they did,find the place they had to live in the attic.There was only two left so they had shared a house with another family while they lived in the attic and shared a single blanket. -
Chapter 7
This is how it all started out.When all the Jews got there,peple were placed in packed,small,rooms.The cmap was built on a cemetary.After everybody got settled,they were sorted out by gender.When all the jews got sorted out,they were beaten and made to work.When was all happening,Leon went to go find is brother and father.When that didn't work he went back to his room which was crowded.Then somebody stole his blanket and Leon had to sleep without one in the cold. -
Chapter 7 Review
The next day,Leon went to go find his mother at the infirmary.When Chanah saw him she wsa surprised and disappointed.She wanted him to leave,but before he goes she gave him a walnut-sized pice of bread.After he was done visiting his mom,Leon went back to work,but something bad happened.Leon slipped and and fell on his head which made a gash mark.he went to the infirmary to get some help but a Conmandent started to kill people one-by-one. -
Chapter 7 review.
Then came a person named Aauptsturmfuhrer who demanded the workers to be whipped 25 times.To make it hurt,Auptsturmfuhrer put little metal ball.Also,he made the workers count how many whips there were.Aauptsturmfuhrer thought the whips were too slow,so he decided to line up the workers against the tables and whip them.
One night,Leon sneaked out of his barracksMoshe comforted Leon as he was crying. -
Chapter 7 Review part 3.
The next day,the workers,including Leon,had different jobs like chopping ice.For lunch everybody had hot water with little salt and pepper.A prisoner sometimes would give Leon a piece of potato in his "soup".Later on Leon's job was relocated to Plaszow.So Leon,David,Pesza,and Moshe all moved to Plaszow.When he started his job,Leon had been singled out by a guard.The guard held a gun to his.Not on that happened,Amon Goeth had shot people at Leon's job. -
Chapter 7 review.
Schindler had decided to build a sub-camp in Plaszow and add thirty Jews to his workforce.Leo was on his list but his name got crossed out.When the trains borded,Leon tried explaining to the officer,But the officer wouldn't listen.So,Leon snuck on the train with his mom(but his mom was on the list). -
Chapter 8 review.
Over a hundred people were leaving Krakow.Everybody was there,even Schindler was.Leon had been bording the train with his mom.Once Leon yelled out and schindler sent them back to Plaszow.Schindler went to go find Chanah.Later on,Leon and Schindler was talkin adn Leon found out he wasn't reall afraid of Schindler.Once Leon got tired,Schindler would help Leon stay awake and focused.Leon would always smell cogarettes and cologne on Schindler. -
Chapter 8 Review
Since nobody did this to Jews,Schindler would say nice things to Leon.Scindler would leave things behind like cigarettes to sell to Nazi soldiers.Back then Gemany broke it's pack with the Soviet Union.Now the Soviet Union Union Is Narewka. -
Chapter 9
Gross Rosen is where the camp.Leon had to have his head shaved.Not only that his cold and dressed in rags.Everybody was being sorted by who looked healthy and who didn't.Chanah was said to be unhealthy and was sent to the gas chambers,so Schindler came to help.Leon had been lookin for food.Leon had vhad got some food from the Staff.Also Amon Goeth had visited Schindler.All the workers had spoke Yiddish.Schindler had transferred Leon to a day shift. -
Chapter *8 review
The SS ordered the Jews to be killed at the factory,and Schindler put a stopped to it.Schindler had left and freed all the Jews.Everybody had a medical checkup.Everbody(Jews) were allowed to pick a few clothes.Leon had made it to a camp.The woman were sent to Aushwitz.Pezsa and Chanah came.Everyone were sorted to the left or to the right.Chanah was sent to the left. -
Chapter 10
All the Jews wanted revenge.Czech had provided free transport by trains.All the Jews had arrivd in Krakoa.Chanah found a tailor who sewed a pair of pants for Leon.Only 60,000 Jews arrived in Krakow.Everbody divided the rooms they got into section.People had been lokking for a palce to stay.Rumors were that a Jewish woman kinapped a gentile boy.Aslo there were rumors that the Jewsish stole blood.Riots broke out.A boy said a Jew tried to kill him.People attacked Leon's building.l -
Chapter 10 review 1949
At the factory,Moshe couldn't work.German armies were killing SS squads.SS squads kidnapped Jewish men and took them to a forest.Hershel was murdered by the SS squads.David and Pesza plan to go back to Czechoslovakia with Leon.Leon's parents enlisted the help of a zionist.David and Pesza with Leon left by train.At the camp,everbody had 3 meals a day.Moshe found sombody to teach Leon.Chanah's sister and brother lived in Los Angeles.It was said that Leon's family had been murdered. -
Chapter 10 review
Pesza and David decided to join a zionist.Leon wanted to go but couldn't.Leon's parents were making arrangments to go to the U.S.May 1949 is when the last of the Leyon family left for the U.S -
Prologue
Leon leyson is a 35 year-old man about to meet a somebody who helped him during the Holocaust.The person who helped him was Oskar Schindler.Leon is going to find him at an airport.
