Austria-Hungary wanted to annex Bosnia and Her. which was previously owned and a part of the Ottoman Empire. Serbia had also supported the annexation. Russia was allies with both sides but in order to do better in the upcoming war Serbia and Russia aren't allies anymore. -
Assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria
A revolutionary group against the upcoming war had carried out this assassination. This had really trigered the events that lead up to WW1 and this had given Austria a reason to declare war.
