Caitlyn's Timeline

  • Birth

    Birth
I was born April 9, 1998, in Sacramento, California. This picture is about three months after I was born. From birth to age three, my mother and I lived with my grandparents. My father and my mother were not married when they had me, but they were not young as others when having children without being married previously.
  • First time to Sunsplash

    First time to Sunsplash
My grandmother works for Adventist Health, and they give out tickets for employees and their families for Sunsplash every year. I started going to Sunsplash when I was 1 1/2 to 2 years old, and I have been going ever since. In this picture I'm about 4 years old. I have also ridden every single ride there.
  • My mother becomes clean

    My mother becomes clean
My mother struggled with drugs practically her whole life, It started when she was 13, and ended when she was 29. It affected a great deal of my childhood, but I've become stronger because of it. She has been sober for 8 years now and I am very proud of her.
  • Michael Jackson Obssession

    Michael Jackson Obssession
I know I have 7 things instead of 6, but I just had to have this in this timeline. My Michael Jackson obssession started in the summer of 2008. It's improtant because he made an impact in my life. He inspired me, because he was judged so badly, but yet kept a smile on his face and gave his fans more and more of his extraordinarytalent. So badly in fact that you could see the hidden sadness in his eyes from time to time. I believe he was an innocent man, and I believe that with all of my heart.
  • Baptism

    Baptism
I was baptized September 12th, 2009 at Gracepoint Adventist Church. I was around 10 years old. When I was younger, I watched many other people get baptized, and I always wanted to be as well. My papa explained to me many times that in order to be baptized, you need to understand why you're doing this, and are ready to accpect Jesus as your personal Savior.
  • JrNYLC (Junior National Young Leaders Conference)

JrNYLC (Junior National Young Leaders Conference)
In 6th grade, at SAA, I was nominated to attend JrNYLC in Washington D.C. I did go, and it was one of the best experiences in my life. I learned so many great things about how to be a leader, and how to interact with other kids all around the world. It has helped me in school greatly. I've been in Class Office every year except this year and I won two leadership scholarships at 8th grade graduation.
  • Graduation

    Graduation
Graduating was definitely bitter sweet. It hit us with a big "grow up" punch. Unfortunately, until May 24, 2012, I didn't realize all the great memories that were now in the past. I definitely should have, (for lack of a better word) savoured my childhood. Nonetheless, graduation was very fun and meaningful in my life.
