I obviously don't remember this but my Mom has vivid memories of me using magnetic letters on our refrigerator to sing along and line up the letters of the alphabet. -
In January 2001, I contracted the rotavirus. This caused an immature reaction of my immune system and caused damage to my brain called, Acute Disseminated Encephalomyelitis. -
After my illness, I received intensive Early Childhood Education services at home. -
At age 4 I attended preschool at Mount Hebron Presbyterian Church. -
I went to kindergarten at Hollifield Station -
I repeated Kindergarten at Saint Johns Lane elementary school -
I was being homeschooled by my mom and I also was going to Bushy Park Elementary school for IEP testing -
Working on strengthening my language, reading, and writing skills , and she helped me a lot. -
I went to Cornerstone 7th-12 grade and they helped me with my disability -
Project access is a summer program for high schoolers at Howard Community College and doing that program helped me more with reading, writing, and math. It also exposed me to college life.
