    Dr. Serge Yudin was the first to test efficacy of transfusion humans with cadaver blood. He tests 420cc of blood from a cadaver of a 60year old man to a young man who attempted suicide.
  • First Citrated Stored

    A group of anesthesiologists at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota are the first to store citrated blood and utilize it for tansfusion.
  • Blood-Transfusion Service

    The Barcelona Blood-Transfusion Service was established by physician Federico Duran-Jorda. The service collects blood, test it, groups the blood, stores it and tranport it refigerated when needed.

    Dr. Bernard Fantus coins the term "blood bank" to describe the donation of blood, collection. He then started a Cook Country Hospital as Director of Therapeutics.
