Dominique's Life

  • Big Move

    Big Move
I was fairly nieve around this age, a very happy and kind of care free child. One day, I look up and my mother tells me we were leaving our home in Indiana. I was very sad and never wanted to leave my home. But my mom told me this a new satrt, to make new friends and a new life. I trusted her. We packed as little as possible and began our long journey to Arizona.
  • The Day I Met My BFF

The Day I Met My BFF
Imagine, it is the very first day of high school, and I stumble into homeroom. I see this beautiful girl, with the biggest hair sitting alone at a table seating four. Everyone else catching up about the details of summer. Meanwhile, I walk up to her table and say to this mysterious girl how much I loved her hair, and seated myself infront of her. She tells me that she loves my outfit and my accent. I did not know I even had an accent, or that the this girl would be my bestfriend of six years.
  • First Day of School

    First Day of School
Typically, you would not uproot your children from their home, move to another state and start a new school all in the same week. However, that is exactly what happened to me. I had no friends, no clue where to go or how to navigate around my new two story castle they called school. How terrifying it was, and no trace of a restroom in sight!
  • Marching Band

    Marching Band
My passion for music had always played a major role in my life. Though, I was used to orchestra and playing my melodic violin, I fell into marching band. I was the best violin player in my old school, first chair even! My new school didn't have orchestra so I settled for band in the percussion section. One day we needed a person to fill in for a bass on the drumline. I volunteered and ever since that day I never put my bass drum down. I found a family on my drumline.
  • Broken Ankle

    Broken Ankle
Soccer season was always fun. My team, both jv and varsity were ready to play our rival school. I was the only sophmore on the varsity team. The game was very heated and was tied, it started to rain but we didnt care, we ran faster. I had been blocking this girl the entire game, I played forward. The next thing I know Im about to score when I collided with four girls from the opposing team and my leg hurt. I made a goal! But my ankle and last two toes suffered. It was broken.
  • When I Went To State

    When I Went To State
In high school I was a track runner. I ran with the long distance team. I was also the team leader for the 4 x 100, the 4 x 400, and the 4 x 800 races. My four by one hundred team were champions and we could break records in our sleep. We ended up going to state because our team was so good! I was always the anchor, evidently I was the fastest runner. We placed second in the state championship and I was so proud of my team
  • First Job (Starbucks)

    First Job (Starbucks)
My friends all had nice phones, clothes and jewlery. And I had nice things as well, but I wanted to be the envy of all my friends. Have the newest shoes, the finest watches, and just have my own money in my pocket. I went and got job, fairly easily, at Starbucks Coffee Co.This was my very first job and I remember everyone being so proud of me. I absoulutely adored every aspect of this job, I became an expert barista.
  • Bishop

    Bishop
My family and I were going through a hard time. We had just recently lost a member and the atmosphere seemed to always be thick. One day my mom picked me up from work and told me she had a surprise. We drove to some odd place where we greeted this guy from Austrailia. I had no idea who he was or what was going on. He took us into his den room where he kept four six week old puppies! I fell in love with the fat boy in the corner. We took him home and I named him Bishop. I love my big baby.
  • Working For Wellsfargo

    Working For Wellsfargo
My journey into adult-hood is still underway, and I have a lot to learn still. But I always wanted a job that grown ups had, where people take me serious. So I began working for Wellsfargo. This experience has opened my eyes to the business world. Handling money and cash is a deliate thing. I love going to a place where people love, and respect me.
  • First Car

    First Car
I have drove my moms "hand-me-down" car for awhile. Nothing special just a car that got me where I needed to be. I never had my own car before, a car that I personally picked out. About a week ago I finally got one. I was so happy and proud of myself, and I totally love this car. This car is mine. Its the exact color I imagined and looks exactly how my dream car does in my head.
