The Long March

The Long March saved Mao Zedong and the CCP from the attacks by the GMD. The first three months of the retreat saw relentless air and ground attacks. The CCP were advised by German Otto Braun re: formation of long line to fight each attack.
Out of Jiangxi, faced relentlesss attack at Xiang River by Nationalist GMD - Red Army loses approx. 50% of fighting force.
