My Life

  • Mother

    Mother
My family and parenting is a huge part of who I am today as well. I was raised by an amazing single mother. Although my mother was amazing and could be around all that she could, she also had to work a full time job to provide for us. That being said, I spent plenty of time for her and she did not work strenuous hours. However, definitely has impact on my childhood and upbringing. Because my mom worked from 8 in the morning to 6 in the evening, that required me to have a nanny or babysitter.
  • Born and raised

    Born and raised
I was born on June 24, 1993 in Orange County, California and did not move once until attending college in Arizona in fall 2011. This is important because where you were raised is part of who you are. After moving out of state for college, I realized that I grew up in some sort of "bubble" because I never really considered other ways of living outside of Southern California. Since moving here, I have met so many different people who had moved there who lives, very different from me.
  • Texas Family

    Texas Family
My entire family besides my mother and I, live in Texas. I spent much of my life traveling and visiting my relatives in Texas. One person who has had a big influence on me is my grandmother whom I call "Didi". I think the origin of that nickname is beause her name is Diane. She is a wonderful grandmother with the most adorable accent. I have always planned on eventually moving to Texas to be closer to my family!
  • Little Brother Being born

    Little Brother Being born
My brother being born was a huge event in my life and he is a huge part of me. Although we don't have the same mothers, we share the same father which has brought us even closer since our father passed away. He was the cutest child, and he is still an outstanding human being.
  • Father Getting Married

    Father Getting Married
My father got married to my step mother when I was very young. I have known my step mom and step sisters practiaclly my entire life. I consider them blood family even though they are not. I call my step sisters my sisters, beacuse that's what they are to me.
  • Getting a dog

    Getting a dog
I begged my mom for years to get a dog and she kept saying no. Then she finally made a deal with me that if I made a good grade on some assignment (which I dont remember) that I could get a puppy! Well I did it and I got my first little puppy named Taz. Not long after my MOM decided he needed a friend so we got another cockapoo named Mia. They are the cutest things in the world.
  • Father Passing Away

    Father Passing Away
My Dad was a huge part of my life up until I was the age of 12 when he passed away in a freak motorcycle accident. This affected and shaped me very much into the person I am today. I am a srong person today because of this. I am also very sympathetic to those who have similar experiences. Although this wasnt the best memory, I will always keep him in my heart.
  • New President

    New President
President Obama became the new President of the United States. There was much talk about this event at home and at school. The media also talked about this a lot. My mom is a republican but didn't have a strong opioin on the matter.
  • Getting My First Car

    Getting My First Car
Getting my first car was the best feeling i've ever had. I remember like it was yesterday. How amazing it felt to get something that was just for me. I got a brand new white Jeep grand cherokee. Passing my drivers test came along with it, but I remember how accomplished I felt.
  • Getting my first Job

    Getting my first Job
Getting my first job was a big event in my life as well. My first job was at a bathingsuit store, and although it wasn't a huge job, I felt proud. Getting a job is a step into the big world, and it felt good making my own money for the first time.
  • Grandfather passing away

    Grandfather passing away
Since the death of my father, my grandfather played a huge father figure role in my life up until the age of 18 when he passed away. He had always been there, and unlike the rest of my family who lives in Texas, he lived right down the street from me. Having my grandfather in my life was very important to me because he taught me the things a normal father would teach their children.
  • Graduated High School

    Graduated High School
Graduating high school was a huge milestone in my life. Graduating high school represents leaving childhood and entering some sort of adulthood. It is a celebration of all the accomplishments we have acheieved and that we were able to do all of this and take this huge step into the world
  • Moved to College

    Moved to College
Moving to college was a big step fo rme. Especially because it was out of state. It was a whole new world of living on my own, or even just living somewhere other than my house, I had never experienced before. It was a huge life change.
  • Joined a Sority

    Joined a Sority
Joining a sorority at ASU was probably the next biggest thing I've done besides moving out of state. Joining a sorority helped me meet all the friends I have today, and shaped my life as a college student. My college experience would not have turned out as great as it has if it weren't for joining a sorority.
  • Moving into my first Apartment

    Moving into my first Apartment
Moving out of the dorms and into my first apartment with my best friends was a huge event in my life as well! I had never been able to live on my own with friends before, it was an exciting and new experience. Living with friends could be a good or bad thing. In my case everything worked out pretty well! It was a fun year!
  • Getting a Boyfriend

Getting my first college boyfriend was also a huge event in my recent life. Dating someone in college is a lot different than dating someone in high school. It is more serious, and my feelings are more mature. I am very content and happy!
