Egypt and Israel
In 1979, Egypt and Israel signed a peace treaty. Within the treaties terms, the Sinai peninsula belonged to the Egyptians, and the Giza strip remained under control of Israel. -
The Lebanon war
In 1982, Israel launched an attack on the PLO, they invaded Lebanon and brought force upon the militants stationed there. The fighting there continued for 3 years until 1985 when Israel withdrew from Lebanon. -

Israel and the PLO signed an agreement in 1993. It was a declaration of principles that was created to protect the lives of the civilians of Israel. When the PLO suicide bombers attacked, a lot of innocent civilians were killed. -
Jordan and Israel
In 1994, the Arab country of Jordan decided to sign a peace treaty with Israel. After it was signed, the two countries have become more connected in trade, business relations, mad cultural exchange. -
Camp David summit
American president Bill Clinton brought Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak and Palestinian President Yasser Arafat to Camp David. This was an attempt to settle the argument and conflict between Israel and Palestine. In the end the peace summit was a failure In attempt to end the violence. -
Israel's wall
In 2002, Israel decided to start building a wall that separated them from the terrorists in Palestine. Since it has been build, there has been a large decrease in terrorist attacks. But Israel ended up building some of the wall in the middle of Palestinian land. It cuts right through a lot of its neighborhoods. -
Israel disengages from Gaza
Israel's prime minister Ariel Sharon decided to lead Israel to withdraw from the Gaza Strip. All,of Israel's civilians that settled in Gaza were forced to move. As soon as Israel's troops moved out of Gaza, the number of rockets and missiles launched into the Gaza strip by the PLO increased dramatically. -
Second Lebanon war
In 2006, a radical group known as the Hezbollah invaded an Israeli base in Lebanon. They killed eight soldiers and kidnapped 2, who were later killed. This started the second Lebanon war. They used a human shield tactic against the Israeli military.
