After over two years of trying, I was finally able to stand up and wake board. My two other sisters were able to get up wake boarding within their first few times of trying. I was not as lucky or skilled. I tried for two and a half frustrating years with coaching and support but still could not get it. It was at the point where I was psyching myself out. Finally, I was able to get up the summer of 2015. This event taught me persistence and to keep trying even if things don't go well.

On this date, the Supreme Court ruled that gay marriage was legal in all 50 states. Ever since I was a little, my mom taught me that love is love, no matter the couple's gender. My mom has always stood up for gay rights even though we are a Christian family. When this was ruled, I cried I was so excited. Now so many couples my family knows are able to get married. It makes me so happy to see. There are still many battles to be fought regarding LGBT rights, but this was an enormous victory.
