On December 8 of 1765 Eli Whitney was born, he was the inventor or the Cotton Gin. This machine could clean and remove seeds from cotton easier and quickly than a human can, you could get around 60 pounds of cotten a day. How the machine worked was a wooden drum rotating while grabbing onto the cotton, shortly after the seeds would fall out of the cotton. -
In 1807 the first steamboat was invented by Robert Fulton. The steamboat was very successful, the boat was called "The Clermont" It was 142 feet long and 18 feet wide. The boat was used in two attacks against the British, and trips on the Clermont were fast. -
