-
The start of a new horizon awaited me in Puerto Rico as I came to only stay a short period but ended up staying longer.
-
I knew I had to continue in life and wanted to prove myself in this country. Facing problems with the language was my first issue. But as time passed by, I grew stronger in the Spanish Language and became a teacher. The need for bilingual teachers was big and this was my chance.
-
This year was special for I married the most important person in my life Angel Morales. The man that gave me support and helped me become a better person. Though he knew no English he helped me with my Spanish. With him I grew a family.
-
Teaching and studying became my priorities, wanted to prove to myself that I was capable of being a bilingual teacher and wanted it to be a good experience. The University of Turabo gave me the opportunity and I did it.
-
Slowly but strongly I was making my dreams come true. I graduated from Turabo University with high honors and my kids were my witnesses that everything is possible if you try hard to make your dreams come true.

Going places and seeing different cultures is when you realize how rich one is knowing more than one language. The places we have visited thanks to our daughter who plays on the Women's National Basketball Team we have been able to discover other cultures. She has also been able to speak the English language in order to communicate.
-
Though out my years I have had very satisfying moments that make me understand that life is worth living with pride and joy. I enjoy teaching and want other to discover that they also are capable of accomplishing their dreams. Barriers do not exist only people who place them in your path.
-
Chosen as one of the schools in Puerto Rico as a school of excellence

Wanting to teach others what I have learned, I helped my Director Mrs.Marilyn Colon transform my school in a bilingual School becoming the first in Aguas Buenas. I started with Kindegarten in English all afternoon and believe me it worked. Now we have the first grade and kindergarten fully bilingual just taking Spanish and History in the native language.
-
Today I can strongly say that I am proud to be a teacher and to have taught others.
