    King Menes

    King Menes is considered the first pharaoh, to our knowledge. He ruled and became most known for being credited with the uniting of Upper and Lower Egypt. This is how the city of Memphis came to be, as Menes made it the capital at the center of Ancient Egypt.

    Mahenjo-Daro

    Mahenjo-Daro home to the ancient people known to us as the Harrappans, were a well developed civilization in the Indus River Valley, with their accomplishments including a working sewer, and natural air-conditioning.

    Shang Dynasty's Silk

    The Shang Dynsaty discovered the use of breeding silk worms for silk, furthering the civilization and economic trade as well as further reinforcing royalty through the exclusivity of purple silk, which was considered an expensive rarity.

    Hammurabi

    Hammurabi was an Akkadian king around 1800BCE. Hammurabi is most known for his laws or "Hammurabi's Code". This code has many harsh rulings and it's where we get the phrase,"and eye for an eye".

    Phoenicians

    Phoenicia was a civilization based near the Fertile Crescent of Mesopotamia. Phoenicia was a proficient trading civilization and is actually where the first alphabet, the Phoenician Alphabet, came from.

    Tutankhamun

    Tutankhamun aka King Tut, was a young Egyptian pharaoh. HE reigned for 10 years, starting at the age of 9. He is arguably the most well known of Egyptian pharaoh such, made infamous by the discovering of his tomb. His tomb was important as it revealed many pieces of information of Ancient Egypt.

    Olmecs

    The Olmecs were an ancient American civilization that began along the Mexican coast and had a very large influence on later civilizations such as the Aztecs and the Maya.

    Mandate of Heaven

    Implemented during the Zhou dynasty, this system shaped the government of China for many years. It was the system where it was believed that Emperors were chosen by the gods, and they could revoke power if the emperor was bad, which would be seen in through natural disasters such as floods.

    Siddhartha Gautama

    Siddhartha Gautama, also known as Buddha, is a religious figure who was born in Ancient India. He started the Buddhist religion, which includes the Four Noble Truths. His teachings shaped many ancient people and are still relevant today.

    Nebuchadnezzar II

    Nebuchadnezzar was a Babylonian king who is credited with great things such as beginning the building of the Hanging Gardens of Babylon and the Ishtar Gate.

    Confucius was a Chinese philosopher that shaped the actions and mannerisms of many people in ancient China and was focused on governments and honor among families.

    Rosetta Stone

    The Rosetta Stone is a large stone that was discovered in Memphis Egypt. In this stone was carved a single story in three differetn scripts, Greek, Hieroglyphs, and Demotic script. The discovery of the Rosetta Stone opened up the ability for us to read and understand Egyptian history. It was a huge discover of great importance.
