    The Neolithic Age began at approx. 12000 years ago. This was the beginning of agriculture/farming. It started in the Epipalaeolithic Near East and then spread to other parts of the world.

    Dorian People Occupy Greece
    The Dorians were one of the 4 major ethnic groups in Greece. The Dorians were different from most people because they had mastered the use of iron. In ancient Greece, it is believed the Dorians got their name from Doris, a small district in ancient Greece.

    The First Piece Of Music

    The First Piece Of Music
    Sparta, Argos, and Paros Create the first documented piece of music. During the same year, the study of music theory begins.
  • Period: 486 BCE to 465

    Xerxes Against Greece

    Xerxes I, of Xerxes the Great, invades Egypt and uses Egypt's resources to prepare to invade Greece. During this time he builds canals, depots and a boat bridge. In 479BC, Xerxes's forces are defeated by the Greeks, ending the Persian's ambitions at ruling Greece. (Xerxes was the ruler of Persia at the time)
  • Period: 449 BCE to 448 BCE

    Greece And Persia

    Peace between Greece and Persia happens. This marks 30 years since the Greco-Persian wars. The treaty was negotiated by Callias, which is why it is called the "The Peace of Callias".
