    Is held in Olympia.The city-states had to make a truce to do the Olympic Games.The spectators were free men and unmarried women.Based off skills for survival in war time.The athletes did javelin throwing, running,wrestling, and horseback.

    The Persian War
    It started in 499 BC when the people of Miletus rebelled against the Persian rule.In 498 the Athenians they crossed the Aegean Sea to the Asia Minor conquering Sardis. The Athenians and the Persians fought at the plain of Marathon. The Greeks won by killing about 6000 Persians with only 192 dead Greeks

    People made around 95 plays to him in his honor. Only a couple of these plays were recovered. He influenced drama throughout the Greece empire. He also left when Socrates was executed because he felt un welcomed.

Pericles was a great orator or public speaker.The reason that Athens flourished but died of disease in the Peloponnesian wars.In that time they made the great building called the Parthenon.

    Was also born in Athens like Socrates and Socrates was his teacher. Plato was an excellent thinker and a brilliant reader.When Socrates was executed Plato and the other philosophers felt not welcomed and fled from Athens.Plato wrote dialogues to make the reader to imagine that they were in a philosophical conversation.

    Alexander conquered the Asia Minor.The leader Darius the III was so scared he broke ranks and fled from Alexander in his great army.This let Alexander go south and conquer all the towns along the Mediterranean.The emperor of Persia asked for peace with Alexander but he said no and went on to conquer more of the Persian Empire.
