    Learning English
Growing up in a hispanic community made it difficult to learn english. Both my parents spoke spanish at home so when I started Kindergarten I struggled to learn English. I struggled when it came to reading and writing, I remember I would get upset that I couldn't read and I would start crying. As timed passed little by little with the help of my teachers I learn how to read, write, and speak English. So yes this was a struggle I had to face during Elementary School.

The next week my mom goes to the doctor and the doctor tells her she's in her 6 month of pregnancy. Three months later Omar is Born.

It was 12pm at night when we decided to stop at a dinner to eat dinner. We were coming back from Atlantic City. It was me, my cousin Jackie, Omar, Mom, Dad, and my aunt. There was a lot of people surrounding us, the table was in the middle. I was seating next to my cousin, which at the time she was 5 years old. We were all talking about school when my cousin farts very loud and everyone turns around and looks at our table. I felt that everyone was looking at me, I felt so embarrassed.

Have you ever mistaken sugar and salt?
I have, I was 12years old when I cooked rice to make dinner. In my mind I was so happy to show my mom I could cook. I watched as the rice was cooking and when it was cooked I called my parents to the dinner table. I had everything ready. I put the rice in the plates with steak. As soon as the rice went in there mount it came back right away. My mom asked me if I put sugar in the rice as a joke. I explained to her that I didn't, I put salt. Even though my rice failed it ended up being funny.

  • My first paycheck

    My first paycheck
It was a Friday afternoon when I received my paycheck. After a long week of work I finally got my check. I was so happy when I saw my name on the check. So many thoughts went through my head.
One of my thoughts was "I'll definitely invite my mom for dinner". I was 15, even though I wanted to spend all my paycheck but I also wanted to save it. For me my first paycheck was HUGE. I could finally earn money without asking my parents. I went home and I couldn't stop talking about my check.
