The move to Phoenix
When I was eight and moved to phoenix my whole life changed. I had aways had my whole family a phone call away and now it was just my mom, my brother, and I. Moving out of New Mexico forced me to grow up because i needed to be responsible and help my mom out around the house and stuff like that. -
The new man
When my mom introduced me to my step dad it was love at first site. He loves me like my own father and he doesn't need to, he chooses too. My step dad has helped me through so many rough spots in my life. -
Little sisters birth
When i was twelve years old i was blessed with a beautiful baby sister. I used to beg my mom to have another baby, i wanted a little sister so bad. When i found out about her i was beyond excited -
The big move
When I started high school I was exposed to a lot of bad things that I let into my life that caused a lot of issues for me. Alot of my family wasnt talking to me because they didnt like the choices I was making. My mom didn't really approve of a lot of the things I started doing when i started high school. Me and my mom would fight about it almost everyday. -
Oops
Last year I got suspend from school for doing something so stupid. This suspension set me back in school and also caused me to fail a class. This also just put my mind right with what things are really important and what isn't. -
back home
When i was 15 i got kicked out of my moms house and moved back to New Mexico with my dad which only caused me to do even worse. This is the time that i failed a lot of my classes and got really got behind in school. Failing all these classes my sophomore year really effected me and put me behind -
Return to AZ
When my mom saw that New Mexico was only hurting me further she welcomed me back to phoenix with open arms. When she said i could come back it just made me realize that my mom only had my best interest in hand. It made me reconsider what i was doing and what i needed to change. -
That was close
My mom got really really sick earlier in the year we weren't sure if she was going to push through but she did. Thinking that you may lose your mom is the biggest reality check. It taught me to take nothing for granted -
Senior year
I started my senior year with a full schedule plus 2 online classes to do. Most of my friends have early release and I am so behind but just need to put my head on straight. I need to keep my priorities straight this year. -
My supporter
My current boyfriend is constantly making sure that I am doing what I need to do to graduate and get started with my future. He's always there for me and makes sure i don't fall back into my same bad habits. Meeting him has only made me a better, more motivated Alyssa.
