A timeline through my adolscence -
Physical Development
My last night in camp I had my first kiss. It was in a TED camp in Denmark. The setting was beautiful outside and we were in the center of the flagpoles that had all of the flags of the countries that attended the camp. There were four torches that were lit as well which made the night even more special. -
Socioemotional Development
I went to Pakistan when I was 14 years old to visit my family. It had been almost ten years since the last time we were there. Coming from Iceland's culture where it was more liberal, everything was different in Pakistan. For example the food, type of clothes and people. We had to be more conservative and careful of the selection of our clothes. Despite the differences culturally it still felt like home. -
Cognitive Development
When I was younger I wouldn't care about my academics and I failed many of my classes. I thought life was all about having fun and being with friends. The first year of college my mother applied, because I didn't even want to go to college and I showed no interest. Then later, towards the middle of my semester I realized that I wanted to do something with my life other then fooling around, I took my academics seriously and started studying, which made me improve myself.
