    These are dresses from 1911. This was normal to wear when it was 1911. Today we wear anyting we want.

    This was a car from 1900's, but it's close to 1911, so we used it. This car does not have doors, a roof, or seatbelts. Today these things are needed for safety.

    You have to pick up the ear peice and talked into the other part. It was attached to the wall. You would need a lot of space for this in your house. You cannot walk around with this phone.

    This refrigerator does not get plugged in. Instead you go to a river and cut big ice chunks and use that to keep food cold.

    This was people's version of a TV. People listened it for entertainment, news, and music. A lot of people had radios.

    It's a colorful dress. It covers her body but it can shower her ankles. This was something that girls would wear all the time because it was not appropriate for girls to show their bodies or wear pants.

    There has been change to cars. Cars now have roofs, doors and seatbelts. They also have a mirror and a wind shield. I think safety has gotten better since 1911.

    Phones have changed in the last 50 years. You have to turn the dial to call someone. You still have to hold the ear peice to hear. You still can walk around with your phone. I would feel like I was in jail.

    The other refrigerator needed ice to keep your food cold. This one needs electricity. You can still keep food in it. The food lasts longer in this one.

    People are now watching tv and their shows end in the evening. They are not listening to the radio for news and information. This TV did not have a remote. You had to get up and change the channel yourself.

    You can show more skin then in 1961. The clothes of 1986 draw more attention. You have more choices in what to wear clothing for girls is shorter.

    Cars are smaller in 1986. Cars use less gas. They now have air bags. They had rules about wearing seat belts.

    This is the first cell phone. This means you can walk around while talking. Not everyone could have a cell phone yet. They were very exspensive. People still used land lines.

    Refrigerators work better because they have improved over time. They need electricity still. These can keep more food in them.

    This TV is smaller then TVs in 1961. You can get more channels. They had remotes to change the channel. TV was on all the time.

    This tv is big, skinny and can get high definition images. It has a remote so you can change the channel, volume and record shows. Shows are on all day and all night. This is called a flat screen.

    This refrigerator is big. You don't need to use ice from a lake to keep things cold, you plug in the refrigerator. It is more energy efficient. You can keep more food in it. You can get ice and water from the door all in one place. It might even have a computer in it.

    This phone has texting, Facebook chat, Skype Mobile, you can check your e-mail, and take pictures and videos. You can go many places while calling people. Everybody has a phone now and they didn't in 1911.

    This car is smaller than other cars. Cars today can run off of electricity. A little bit of gas goes a long way these days. These cars are safer than older cars.

    This dress shows a lot more skin. We don't have to wear dresses all the time. We can wear pants, tank tops, etc. You can dye your hair colors. You can wear shorter clothing.
