    The Trail of Tears
The Trail of Tears was the forced removal of the Cherokee Indians from the southern areas such as Georgia. The Chereokees fought removal for a long time through political means, but Andrew Jackson eventually ordered their removal to present-day Oklahoma. The conditions were brutal and 4,000 of the 15,000 died.

    Trail of Death
The Trail of Death began in 1838, the same year as the Trail of Teras. However, the Trail of Death actually suffered less death than the Trail of Tears. The Trail of Tears was the forced removal of the Potowatomi Indians from Indiana. It was led by Gerneral John Tipton and many Indians died from sickness along the way. Soldiers yelled and chided to keep stragglers from falling behind. They arrived in Kansas on November 4, 1838, but no houses had been built for them as promised.
