Steam Engine
In 1763 James Watt started to work on the making of the first working steam engine. Now the Steam engine was made before Watt started his project. Watt was basicly perfecting the steam engine to be used in traveling.This is imporant for many reasons. This was infact the "spark" of The Industrial Revolution. It also help bring the world together. Communication was much easier now that travel wasn't as much of a problem. -
French Revolution
The French were dieing from hunger and were being ignored by the King and Queen (Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette). The people soon got mad and took over the country themselves. Later on Robespierre was chosen new leader. This lead to more bloodshed and wasn't helping anyone at all. Robespierre was then killed bringing peace. This is important because it made France a republic Nation. -
Haitian Revolution
The Haitian Revolution was a revolt in Saint-Domingue. The revolt was led by General Toussaint L'ouverture. Toussaint wanted to have peace in his country. His people were treated poorly to bring wealth to others. This is imporant because it gave freedom to Haiti and showed other countrys that anyone can do it. It showed others to fight for what they believed in. Other countries used this as an example of a true working revolution. -
Independence of mexico
The Spanish and the Mexicans were in hot water at the time. The people of Mexico hated the Spain for many reason. Mainly because they were forced to share wealth with them. They shared their side of the story and fought for their independence. And soon later on, Spain gave them freedom, letting Mexico to become it's own country. And to this day it still has it's freedom. This is imporant for it freed the people of Mexico. If the people never spoke up, they might still be part of Spain.... -

Opium War
The war was with China and the British Empire. China didn't want to buy Opium ( a drug) from the British. China said that Opium is bad for their counrty, so they put a ban on all selling of opium.The British saw this, and still sold Opium to the Chinese. So the Chinese closed all the ports. The British Empire got mad and attacked the Chinese by ship. Chinese calls war against them and gets defeated. This is imporant because it showed that money can change people. The British fought to make cash. -
Matt Perry goes to Japan
Matt Perry was an American naval officer. He forced Japan to open up trade to the west by the signing of the Convention of Kanagawa. He was sucessful and made Japan trade with the people of the west. The importance of this was the signing of the Covention of Kanajawa, which started trade with Japan and the United States. -
Sepoy Mutiny
Indian soilders that were trained by the British were mad. The British killed animals and used them to help make weapons. The Indians believe that killing animals is bad, because they belong to the gods. The Sepoy's / Indians started to fight against the British people to respect the gods. Many people were killed. This is imporant in history because it shows that we should care about others before taking any action. -

Berlin Conference
The Berlin Conference was held by King Leopold II. The conference was made to organize Africa and claim the lands for each country. There was no representation for Arfica it self. The people of Africa had basicly no word for them selves. The end result of all of this was more slave trade. This helped other countries with producing more things. This is an imporant event in history because it's still causing problems in Africa. -
Russo-Japanese war
It was a war against Japan and Russia over Manchuria and Korea. After the Meiji government, Japan became more powerful, learning western ideas. Japan wanted more land and wanted to be recognized by the West. So Japan tried to take over Korea. Russia didn't like what Japan was doing. So They fought Japan's fleet to try to stop them from coming into Korea. -
Dr.Sun Yat-sen takes over China
Also known as the Founding Father of Republican China, Dr.Sun Yat-sen was the first leader of Republican China. China became a Republic once it's mafest of dystany was gone. People were mad that they were not protected by other people. The result was the fall of the Qing Dynasty. This is imporant because this ended the Qing Dynasty, which was around for a long time.
