The main land fighting of the war occured along the Canadian border in the Cheaspeake bay region and along the gulf of mexico extensive action also took place at sea. -
peace treaty and the battle of new orleans
Jacksons victory had saved new orleans but it came after the war was over. the treaty of ghent which ended the war of 1812 but resolved none of the issues that started it. had been sighned in europe weeks before the action on the chalmette plantation.
