  • Talkboy

    Talkboy

Developed by Tiger Electronics (or known as Tiger Toys). A handheld player that recorded your voice and played it back for you. I always wanted one since the mic extended out, similar to a walkie talkie antenna. The Talkboy was originally just a prop created for the film Home Alone 2, but became popular and was released in April 1993.
  • PalmPilot (Personal Digital Assistant or PDA)

PalmPilot (Personal Digital Assistant or PDA)

Developed by Palm Computing, Inc. The first Palm device was the PalmPilot 1000. This device helped business people stay organized and on the go. Definitely a game changer for those needing to keep their work with them. The PalmPilot was small enough to fit into your back pocket and came with a stylus that was built in so you never lost it (unless you forget to put it back). You could only tap the screen with the stylus or use the buttons at the bottom of the device.
  • Tamagotchi

    Tamagotchi

Created by Akihiro Yokoi of WiZ and Aki Maita of Bandai. This was a small egg-like electronic toy that consisted of an electronic pet you would take care of or at least tried to; I mean I probably failed at this several times. I eventually figured it out in the end. I guess you could say Tamagotchi is similar to the gaming apps we have on our phone.
  • iMac All-in-One Computer

    iMac All-in-One Computer

Designed and built by Apple Inc. The iMac all-in-one computer was this bulky egg looking monitor. It was transparent and available in 5 different colors. You could see the motherboard inside the computer. The iMac progressed with technology by eliminating the floppy disc drive and incorporating USB drives on its monitor.
  • Hit Clips

    Hit Clips

Created by Tiger Electronics (also known as Tiger Toys). A small mini player that had a little cartridge you could insert into player. The cartridges only contained a mini clip of a song, usually only a minute long. Most popular Hit Clips consisted of Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, Destiny’s Child, and so on. Hit Clips seemed to pave the way towards the start of MP3 players, or at least that’s what I like to think of them as.
