    us declares war on Great Britain

    On June of 1812 president James Madison declared war on great Britain in reaction to British economic blockage of France, the induction of thousands of neutral American seamen into the British royal navy against their will, and British support of hostile Indian tribes along the great lakes frontier. Many British solders turned and joined the American crew, but British navy kidnapped them and made them rejoin the British navy.

    General Hull

    On july 12 1812 the US forces under General Hull invaded Canada. The invention was met with fierce oppositions and American forces were forced to withdraw. On august 16 Hull surrendered Detroit to the British, one of the main goals was to capture and attack Canada.

    the battle of Ogdensburg

    on February 22 the British gained victory over the Americans and captured the village of Ogdensburg and New York. It removed the Americans threat to British supply lines for the remainder of the war. they lost 20 solders and captured 70 .

    battle of Sackets Harbor

    On May 29 1813 the battle of Sackets Harbor took place during the war of 1812. A British force was transported across the lake Ontario and attempted to capture the town, which was the principal dockyard and base of the American naval squadron on the lake. The general Pike did help the Americans achieve superiority on the lake Ontario when it cripples the British and Americans continued building larger warship.

    battle of Chippawa

    On July 3 1814 the Americans invaded upper Canada by crossing the Niagara river from black rock and landing north of of fort erie. the invasion was spotted and the Americans landed in Niagara under a hail of gun fire. The meager British force of 137 soldiers quickly surrendered before being over run by a much larger American force. once landed the 6000 Americans began marching northward towards Chippawa and the battle of chipawa began on July 5 the British lost 148 soldiers and captured 46

    The treaty of Greenville was called a treaty of peace and friendship between the united states and the tribes of native Americans. it was concluded at Greenville, Ohio on july 22 1814 to provide peace among the tribes and with the us as well as an alliance between these Tribes and the us against Great Britain during the war

    Battle of Bladensburg

    On august 24 1814 the battle of Bladensburg was fought in Maryland and this British victory left Washington D.C perilously open to British invasion. The embarrassing defeat of forces under General William Winder allowed British army to subsequently march into nearby Washington D.C and set fire to public buildings. British military leader drew up a plan to decisively end the war coming up with a strategy to overcome New England and focus on attacking New Orleans.
