1793- COTTON GIN
Eli Whitney, in 1794, created the cotton gin.The cotton gin removes seeds from the cotton & that increased the cotton production.(NEW GA ENCYCLOPEDIA) -
1795 -YAZOO LAND FRAUD
The General Assembly was bribed to sell 25 million acres of land to 4 companies who sold it for half the price they bought it for.Citizens & businesses bought out the land & developed the area which weakened the government by causing them to pay 4.3 million dollars to get it the land back . -
1801- UGA
University of GA was created in 1801 & was thought to be the first Public University in the US. The creation of UGA successfully helped any person in GA get an education. (NEW GEORGIA STUDIES TEXTBOOK) -
1805- LAND LOTTERY
The land lottery gave me, women, & orphans a chance to win land. It helped people gain land who didn't have or wanted more land . (NEW GEORIGA'S TEXTBOOK) -
1829- DALONEGA GOLD RUSH
The gold was found & people rushed to settle & forced natives off their land . The rush helped Georgians gain wealth & land. -
1832-RAILROAD
Railroads were created because Athens needed a better way to transport goods to other places. The railroads expand across GA which helped GA gain new cities including Atlanta. (GEORIGAINFO) -
1832- WORCESTER V. GEORGIA
Worcester v. Georgia was a court case which determined weather natives could be their own nations with their on land. This successfully helped Natives not be considered citizens. -
1838-TRAIL OF TEARS
The trail of tears caused natives to be forced off their land & moved to Oaklahoma. This tragical time weakened the Natives & caused alot of deaths do to the long walk.
