    1778-1825 William McIntosh

    William signed a treaty that gave up native land. McIntosh supported Andrew Jackson and gave up land to GA and was killed for it (New GA Encyclopedia).

    1790-1830 Tent revival

    Back in the 1790's religion was starting to get big, and people came together to practice their religion. 3 major religions came into play and it increased the practice of religion (New GA Encyclopedia).
  • 1793 Cotton gin

    Eli Whitney created a machine to separate cotton from cotton seeds. The cotton gin impacted the amount of cotton grown in GA, and slavery also increased (New GA Encyclopedia).
  • 1795 Yazoo land fraud

    The GA legislators sold land to 4 companies for really cheap. The GA legislature were bribed and the sold land to expand cotton growth GA (New GA Encyclopedia).
  • 1809 Sequoyah

    Sequoyah made a written syllabary for the Cherokee. Sequoyah made it possible to read and write in Cherokee showing grow for the Native Americans (New GA Textbook).
  • 1829 Dahlonega Gold Rush

    The gold rush was when gold was on native land that people went and to get gold and the natives there were expelled. The Creek Nation was flooded by thousands of prospectors looking for gold the population increased lot from the prospectors (New Georgia Encyclopedia).
  • 1830 Railroads

    In the 1830's the railroads changed GA by making it easier to transport cotton. The railroads linked all GA major cities and created a new city without a water source nearby (New GA encyclopedia).
  • 1838 Trail Of Tears

    The Trail of Tears was when the Native Americans were forced from their homes. In 1838 the state of Georgia expelled Native Americans to gain more land for farms (New GA Encyclopedia).
