the cotton gin was made to separate cotton fibers from the seeds. More slaves were bought to use the cotton gin it increased the amount of cotton produced. -
Yazoo land fraud
The General Assembly was bribed to sell 2 million acres. Citizens found out about the illegal sale and protested also the government had to pay 4.3 million dollars to get the land back.
