How the Opium War Started
The Opium war started by China selling tea , silk and porcelain to the British by giving it to them through the silk road and earning lots of money. -
Starting to Sell the Opium.
The British were getting very angry beacause they were going broke and China was getting richer so they started selling opium to China, wich they knew was poisonious. -
Trying to Stop the Opium Trade
Lin Zexu was appointed by the emperor as a special commissioner to stop the opium trade. He and his troops traveld to foreign factories to make people surrender chests of opium. -
China Lost the War
In order of losing the war China had to sign the treaty and had to give Hong Kong to the British for a 100 years. It is now calle the treaty of nanking.
