My Life; Samantha Easton.

  • My Birth

    My Birth
On the day of May 20th, 1995 I was born. After my mom being in labor for 28 hours and told many years before that she was not able to have kids, she finally delivered me. By being in labor this long, it tells me why I'm an only child! Weeks before my birth, everyone was positive that mama's first child was going to be a boy, due to the ultrasounds. Well, technology isn't always correct! I was then given the title of the first and only daughter, granddaughter, and neice to my family.

    My life!

  • Single Mom, but BEST Mom.

    Single Mom, but BEST Mom.
My mama had been married to my father for 2 years before I was born. I was her first child, and she knew every choice she chose would one day affect me. My father was a alcoholic, not a violent one but a drunk. There was no doubt he loved me as well as my mama, but she "couldn't raise me in that type of enviroment". Still to this day, nearly 16 years later, I haven't spoke to my father. I will one day of course, i've just got to learn how to accept the fact that he was the way he was.
  • "and I was runningggg!"

    "and I was runningggg!"
I guess you could say I was the type of baby who always had something to do or had someone to play with. I started crawling at 8 months old, but it was only a month later at 9 months I was standing on my own and walking. A month and half later, at 10 1/2 months old, I was already running and ready to play with whoever I would get ahold of or any animal that walked by!
  • Pre-Kindergarten

    Pre-Kindergarten
When I was about 3 years old, my mother enrolled me in a daycare/pre-k class that taught me things I would use later in life. Still to this day, I have memories of all the friends I made there. One of my first friends there was a girl named Jade Danner. Even nowadays after much moving around and much time passing, me and her still keep in touch.
  • Kindergarten.. Awe!

    Kindergarten.. Awe!
When I started Kindergarten, it was a time in my life that my mama knew that her little baby girl was growing up just a little. She said the day I walked in to the school, my bookbag was bigger than I was. My kindergarten teacher was Mrs.Bullock, a sweet lady who I loved having as my teacher. My first bestfriend in Kindergarten was a red headed girl named Jordan Ennis.
  • 1st Grade; New Bestfriend.

    1st Grade; New Bestfriend.
I met one of my bestfriends in first grade when we had the same teacher, Ms.Garris. We shared crayons one day, and now 10 years later she's become like a sister to me. We've made promises to each other about staying bestfriends and so much more. Her family is always been like a family to me, and vice versa. And i'm proud to call Carlee Suarez my bestfriend!
  • Father-Daughter dance for Girl Scouts

    Father-Daughter dance for Girl Scouts
Growing up without a real father has never held me back from having a true male figure in my life. My Grandaddy has been another one of my bestfriends who I've looked up to for anything and everything. He's taught me how to fish, mow grass, shoot a gun, drive a truck at the age of 5, and taught me how to accept that everything happens for a reason. Without my Grandaddy, I do not know where I would be today. He says i'm a blessing to him, but he'll never know how much his babygirl loves him!
  • "Aye girl! What's number two??"

    "Aye girl! What's number two??"
In elementary school, middle school, and highschool, i've never been a cheater. I've always figured out all of my work by myself one way or the other. However, in 3rd grade I asked this tall girl who sat beside me what the answer was for a question the teacher asked. 8 years later, i'm still calling Morgan Hudson my bestfriend. This girl is about the funniest person i've ever met and I love her so much!
  • That's right; My mom IS a COP.

That's right; My mom IS a COP.
Looking at a picture of her, you probably couldn't tell but that lady I call my "mama", is a Winterville Detective Sergeant. She's not the type of woman who goes into Law Enforcement knowing the dangers and expecting her boys to take care of her. No, she's the type of woman who knows the dangers, accepts the risk, and always has her boys back. She's one of the bravest women I know and that's why I call her my hero, too.
  • Thanksgiving at Duke Hospital

    Thanksgiving at Duke Hospital
I've always been a Carolina fan, but when it comes to Duke Hospital they've always been wonderful to my family. A few weeks before, during, and after Thanksgiving, our questions were finally answered; Grandma was diagnosed with Primary Pulmonary Hypertension (hypertension of the lungs). This disease was nothing to joke about, and doctors gave her less than 5 years but my Grandma would tell you in a heart beat "5 years? I don't see a expiration date on the bottom of my foot".
  • To me, it's a passion.

    To me, it's a passion.
In middle school, I was the kind to always play sports or any type of outdoor activity. I had one coach I will never forget, Dillahunt. The day of my 7th grade year, I was eligible to play sports for the school. Dillahunt told me I "had" to tryout for Volleyball. Looking back at me calling him crazy since I had never played before, i'm glad I took his advice and tried out. Now, I LOVE volleyball. I play year round and can't get enough of it.
  • The day I accept Jesus Christ as my SAVIOR.

The day I accept Jesus Christ as my SAVIOR.
I knew that at the age of 13, I wanted to be baptized and know that my soul would be with God if my time on Earth were to come to a end. I was baptized by my preacher at the Grifton Free Will Baptist, Preacher Van. My whole family was there pretty much; My mama, grandma, grandaddy, and great grandma Riggs. After I walked out of the church that Sunday morning, I knew I didn't have to worry anymore about if I were to go to Heaven or not; I was saved and I was going to Heaven one day!
  • When my Grandma became my HERO.

When my Grandma became my HERO.
On this day in May, my family was informed of some of the hardest new someone could hear; Our Grandma had the progressive disease of Pancreatic Cancer, and the future didn't look good. Anyone who knows my grandma knew she was a woman of her word and with that she fought on and never gave up. Months of radiation, chemo, more medicine than you could count on your hands and feet; I knew I had found my real hero.
  • "Freshmeat"...

    "Freshmeat"...
When I left middle school, all I could think about was "oh my gosh, i'm going to be so lost in highschool". Looking back, that's a lie. My freshman year, I was number 14 for the Ayden Grifton volleyball team. I've played for many years and it's become a passion of mine. As a freshman, I made plenty of new friends, met a lot of different teachers, and quickly found my way around AG.
  • Miss Grifton Pageant 2010

    Miss Grifton Pageant 2010
I was never the type of girl who would stand up infront of a lot of people and introduce myself like it was nothing, dance like a mad lady, or walk across stages in heels like I owned the place... That was until I entered the Miss Grifton Pageant. This was my first pageant and the main reason I did it was to make my Grandma and Grandaddy proud. Grandma had been sick for a very long time and I knew me walking across the stage, getting 1st Runner Up at the age of 14, would make her smile.
  • Welcome to the FAMILY!

    Welcome to the FAMILY!
Now, my mama never was the kind to bring just any man around my family. She'd date a few guys every now and then, but she was a single mom for nearly 15 years. She's always had that 6th sense when it comes to people, and how she read them. The man I will one day call my step-dad, Stan, has got to be the most hard working and caring man i've met. He's been a blessing to us all, and with him in the household, there's someone new who gets to "kill all the scary bugs"!
  • Meet my boyfriend, Avery.

    Meet my boyfriend, Avery.
Just like every other teenager out there who find a boyfriend or girlfriend, they fall head over heels.Well,I guess you could say I am one of those teenagers. April of 2010 I met Avery McLawhorn and immediately wanted to get to know him better. By the end of May we became "a thing". Avery has helped me through so much this past year by bringing me up when i've been down and keeping me laughing when I felt like all I could do was cry. He's been the best boyfriend and I thank God for him everyday.
  • The day my Hero met God.

The day my Hero met God.
My one and only Grandma had always been my bestfriend. Wherever she went, I went. Whatever she did, I was right there helping her. My Grandma would never give up. She'd been in and out of hospitals for months at a time for over 5 years. Everybody's time on Earth is limited, but I prayed for one wish when it was my time for pretty lady to go; I wanted to be there. The night she passed, I was there holding her hand and telling her I'd always love her.
  • Moving on up; Sophomore year!

    Moving on up; Sophomore year!
Being a sophomore, you automatically think that by being a "sophomore" you're no longer considered like a freshman; that's probably wrong. The beginning of my freshman year, I started it out by staying on the volleyball team; number 14, and being a setter. My first semester classes were pretty great, minus Chemistry; chemistry was just something that I never got the hang of. Now i'm in my second semester and i'm enjoying only having one core class, 2 electives, and a online PCC class.

Mr.Vicks first Honors English 2 Project
I've never been a procrastinator, so instead of waiting till Monday night when my English 2 project is due, i'm doing it now; on a Saturday night. I've never used this website before but I think it's easy to use. Oh, my teacher is pretty cool too and his room always smells great!
