Significant because it (England passing this saying that colonists were no longer able to expand beyond the Appalachians after the French and Indian War) angered colonists, ended the period of salutary neglect, and eventually (along with other events) led to the American Revolution

Thanks to the Anti-Federalists, the Constitutional Convention gathered to work on the Bill of Rights, which were the first ten amendments to the Constitution.
-
Such a big turning point that it was called the "Revolution of 1800." Thomas Jefferson won, meaning that he was the first non-Federalist president (he was a Democratic Republican and more in favor of the common farmer rather than a rich Federalist). Before him were George Washington (secretly in favor of the Federalists) and John Adams (Federalist).

This decision constituted the idea of judicial review.

Polk wanted to establish the American border at the Rio Grande River. This war ended in 1848 and we gained a lot a lot a lot of territory, which led to debate about issues of slavery and further egged on the idea of Manifest Destiny.

The war between the Union and the Confederate--it started with the secession of South Carolina following the election of Lincoln in 1860. Major battles included Gettysburg, Vicksburg, Antietam (single bloodiest battle), and Sherman's March to Sea. Ended 1865. Reconstruction followed, and that ended in 1876/1877 with the election of Hayes.

This guaranteed equal protection to all citizens of the United States, regardless of race, gender, class, etc.

Wooooo! This was repealed in 1943. This historical event ended up affect MY life because if it had not been repealed, I wouldn't even be in America!! I'd probably be taking English classes and piano lessons in China, studying for my gaokao (college admissions test)!!

This was the marker of the end of Indian resistance to western expansion.

Hugeeee change from the previous Gilded Age and McKinley's presidency!! He broke up monopolies (Taft, after him, was the bigger trust buster though).

Not only did this establish the Soviet Union and America as the main super powers (leading to the Cold War), many middle class whites began moving to suburbs, isolating themselves from the diversity and poverty of the cities.
-
North American Free Trade Agreement. This was passed by Clinton, and it opened up more trade between Mexico, Canada, and the US.

South Bend, Indiana

This would lead to sooo many escalated tensions between the Middle East and America; to this day, we still feel the effects.

The beginning of my educational career here at Forest Hills Central. I also met my best friend, Alexis Yang, on this day :)
-
We used to move between apartments throughout the Grand Rapids area, but we finally settled in a home in late 2005/early 2006 in Ada Moorings. Coincidentally, my house is three houses down from that of my best friend, Alexis Yang! :) (also coincidentally, half the school lives here...with the other half living in Clements Mill of course)

My dad was going to go back with me, but the night before our flight, I had a tooth infection and stayed in the ER for a week. My dad left on the plane and I had to fly alone (when I was 5 years old ahhhh) to China for the first time after I got out of the hospital. After that, I've basically flew alone to China and back every time.

One day, my mom picked me up from school in fourth grade and told me that she saw an ad for a class at Grand Rapids Ballet. After that class, we signed up for classes for the year and I started my dance journey.
-
And I started taking these weird Asian flute lessons. This began my love for the flute and led me to choose flute in band for our sixth grade instruments. I'm still playing the flute in band/marching band today!

I've never ran before in my life, but I decided to start going to XC Summer practices... and now I can't stop running.
-
Wooooo!! I mean, unless you count the first day as the day I got the summer homework. But September 8th was the first day of sophomore year, and thus APUSH. Little did I know, this class and the teacher (Mr. Labenz) would become the highlight(s) of my day and I would learn so so so so much from this experience.
