Daddy was born January 15, 1911 to the late Will Bolden and Mary Vivian Searcy.

As a youth, Jeff was widely regarded as an exceptional baseball player and enjoyed the position of Catcher in many community games. He would continue his love of the game by becoming
a lifelong fan of baseball and an avid fan of his favorite team, the Atlanta Braves. -
At an early age, Jeff’s parents exposed him to the Word of God and he accepted Jesus Christ as his Personal Savior. In
1926 he joined the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Rondo, Arkansas where he was active in Sunday Schooland other Church Ministries and was ordained as a Deacon in the early 1950s. Jefferson continued to serve the Lord in the Church setting and outside the Church setting. He visited the sick at home and in the nursing home. He was a caring man full of conviction. -
I liked working and providing for my wife and children and grandchildren. The Lord blessed me with good health and strength!

Jefferson married Peoria Hollin Scruggs on December 30, 1930 and they were immensely blessed with 18 Children' 12 girls and 6 boys.

There was none like Peoria Hollin Scruggs Bolden; she was a gift from the Lord to Me.

My loving wife Peoria passed on at home with Baby Girl Glenda, Winifred, and Von by her side. The Angels came and ushered her into Heavenly Peace with the Lord. I missed her so much.

Take all your burdens to the Lord and leave them there. He will come through for you. Trust Him.

There was nothing I enjoyed more than seeing all my children, grandchildren, great-grand-children, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, sister and cousins.

Many of my children came home to be with me and celebrate God's Grace! I was so happy and everyone sang with me and blessed me!

Children, I never would have made it without the Lord and without your love towards me. Thank you Von for helping me for so long. I love you all.

I have kept the faith, and now - my reward is in Heaven.
