    this was the turning point in the war.be for this point we were just giving the Nazis what they wanted, hoping to satisfy their want for land. We were wrong. Hitler kept demanding more and more land, this was right before Hitler tried taking over England but failed. Now the U.S. sees that we are not safe from Hitler just becasue of an ocean.

    German forces had moved into Belgium on May 10, part of Hitler’s initial western offensive. Despite some support by British forces, the Belgians were simply outnumbered and outgunned from the beginning. The first surrender of Belgium territory took place only one day after the invasion, when the defenders of Fort Eben-Emael surrendered.

    Just before 8 a.m. on December 7, 1941, hundreds of Japanese fighter planes attacked the American naval base at Pearl Harbor near Honolulu, Hawaii. The barrage lasted just two hours, but it was devastating: The Japanese managed to destroy nearly 20 American naval vessels, including eight enormous battleships, and almost 200 airplanes. More than 2,000 Americans soldiers and sailors died in the attack, and another 1,000 were wounded.

    On New Year’s Day 1942, President Roosevelt, Prime Minister Churchill, Maxim Litvinov, of the USSR, and T. V. Soong, of China, signed a short document which later came to be known as the United Nations Declaration and the next day the representatives of twenty-two other nations added their signatures. This important document pledged the signatory governments to the maximum war effort and bound them against making a separate peace.

    the Lapland war was when the Soviet Union and FInland agreed to ceise fire. this was after the fact that Russia tried to invade Finland bt failed.The Soviets told the Fins that they had until the 15th of September to get all the German Nazis out of finland.This was a near impossable task knowing how many Germans were in Finland. the Fins knew it would take monthes for them all to get out. But by Russian standards any Germans thet had not left Finland would be taken, disarmed, and become a POW

    we had to test the bomb before we could use it on the japs so thats what we did. there was a place in arizona that had no inhabitance so we used that. built a little town just to destroy it.

    this was when we bomded the japs to end the war. we were lucky we didnt get bombed back. in todays world we would because that would be considered unfair. this was also the end of the war in the west. we call this V-J day
