The Annexation of Sudetenland was Germany taking over Sudetenland. It only lasted one day. There were many Germans living in the area so he decided to take it over and make it Germany.

This event was a one day planned attack on the United States naval force. Japan had bombed Pearl Harbor and left more than 2000 soldiers dead. The US was shocked and it eventually brought us into the war fighting against the axis powers.

Executive Order 9066 was passed. The Japanese population had to go to secluded camps. 100000 men, woman, and children were put in these camps. FDR was the president to pass this law.

Guadalcanal is the south of the Pacific Ocean. It was a first major land offense against Japan. The fighting lasted from August 7th, 1942 until February 9th, 1943. There were only 3 land battles but 7 naval battles.

The Philippine campaign was from October 20, 1944 to August 15, 1945. The goal of this was to liberate the Philippines from Japan. MacAurther was the leader of this battle.

FDR, Winston Churchill, and Joseph Stalin all attended this conference. While they were there they talked about dividing Germany into 4 post-war zones. The Soviet Union also agreed to help the U.S. defeat Japan.

The Allies jumped from island to island in the Pacific Ocean. They defeated the Japanese Empire by doing this. One of these islands included the famous Iwo Jima. This event led to Japan being unable to expand through the Pacific.

This lasted from Apr 16, 1945 to May 2, 1945. This was one of the last battles in the Eastern Theater. The Soviet Union won this battle and destroyed Berlin. Almost 130,000 people died. This was a house to house fighting in Berlin.

As America was closing in on Berlin Hitler decided to kill himself. He was in his bunker with his girlfriend and he killed her as well. He knew if he didn't kill himself he would have suffered a long painful death by the people.

Los Alamos is in New Mexico. This is where they tested all the atomic bombs. The code name for this project is the Manhattan Project. They later used the bombs they tested here to defeat Japan in the war.

Potsdam Conference consisted of Winston Churchill, Harry S. Truman and Joseph Stalin. At this conference Germany was the main topic. They needed to figure out what to do with Germany without causing another war. They did not want the same thing from WW1 to happen.

This is where the first Atomic Bomb was dropped on Japan. The explosion killed at least 80,000 people immediately. The Japanese refused to surrender to America which made them drop another one.
