    Steam Engine
    James Watt started to work on the steam engine in 1763. What he was doing was perfecting Thomas Newcomen's version of the steam Engine. This event was important because there was now a new and improved steam engine, and introduced the idea of Rotary motion.

    French Revolution was a time when France was struggling financialy. They wanted a fresh start in France, by starting the Republic of France. This was important because it Demonstrated to other countries that if you want a change in your government then you can do it.

    Hatian Revolution

    Originally in before 1791 Haiti was the french colony of Saint-Domingue. The slaves of the colony and the free people known as Mulattoes, came together to abolish slavery and freed themselves from French rule. With many revolts of 500,000 slaves, and help of their leader Toussaint L'Ouveture they were able to become the free country of Haiti.

    Independence of Mexico

    In the early 1800's the Mexican middle class was upset about sharing their wealth with Spain, which started thought's about a revolution. Without Father Hildago the revolution would of never happened. Even though the revolution finished 30 years later, he still played a large part. This was important because it influenced Latin American countries to revolt.

    The Congress of Vienna was a meeting held to restore the balance of power in Europe. This was an important event because it changed the boundries of Europe, and the balnce of power with stronger countries discouraged political or military control of a state.

    Opium War

    The Opium War bagan with the chinese. The Chinese government was trying to restrain the importation of Opium. The British started to import opium to China which resulted in the illegal Opium trade. The Chinese stole the opium in a British warehouse, which started a war in 1939.China lost this war, and many others, eventually giving Europe more ports around China.

    In the year 1852, Matt Perry was ordered by President Millard Fillmore, to travel to Japan and establish a relationship with them. Then finally in the year 1854, Japan signed a treaty. This was important because we were now allowed to access trading ports in Japan.

    The indian people were tired of being under control of the British and the wanted independence. Their culture was fading so they decided to rebel. They were tired of the way the British, and showed any one can revolt for freedom.
  • Unification of Germany

    Unification of Germany
    The Prussian king Kaiser Wilhelm I Declared the formation of the German Empire. During the Prussian war against France, which lasted from 1870 untill 1871, Kaiser Wilhelm was working on the Unification of Germany. Prussia was bringing all of the German states electorates togather. Once this happened, Otto von Bismark became the first Chancellor of Germany.

    Berlin Confrence

    The Berlin conference was the result of the Berlin Conference on Africa. This conference was attended by all of the major European powers, and the United States. The point of the meeting was to divide Africa between the larger European powers and the US. They then successfuly mapped the continent during the General Act.

    Russia and Japan went to war over land they both wanted to claim in northern China, Japan ended up winning the war. This was important because it led to dissapointment in Russia, which created the Russian Revolution.

    The Zulu uprising was manly triggered by a Poll tax that was created in 1906. When this occured the Zulu people were determined to not be dragged into the English speaking community. This eventually resulted in a war where the Zulu people were defeated.
  • Dr. sun Yat-sen takes over China

    Dr. sun Yat-sen takes over China
    Dr. Sun Yat-sen was elected the president of the Chinese new republic. It started when Sun Yat-Sen and his forces took over the capitol of the Hupei Province, Wuchang. In the year 1912 he then gave his chance at being empire up to a strong military leader Yuan Shih-k'ai. He then became emperor in 1915.

    Dr. Sun Yat-sun takes over china
    Dr. Sun Yat-sen started the Republic party of china in the year 1912. He then later became the National People's party's president, which was also known as the Kuomintang. Sun also played an important role in overthrowing the Qing Dynasty. This helped him become the first Republic leader of china, and ending 4,000 years of tradition.
