    This was a revolutionary assembly which was formed by the Third Estate. The Third Estate had created this after being in the Estates-General.

    The Tennis Court oath was when the Third Estates decide to break up from the Estates General and make their own constitution. This is called the “Tennis court oath” because the third estates all gathered in one of the tennis courts, and basically protested.

    This was an event that was very popular at the time, and it was so popular it began the month of Thermidor. It was a reaction that happened after Maximilien de Robespierre was executed.

    The directory is a Group of five men who had held executive power in France. They were chosen by the following three, new legislature, Council of Five hundred, and the council of ancients and each “Year one director” was replaced.

    He was already very high through the ranks of the military during the French Revolution. He then seized political power in France by coup d’etat, then crowned himself emperor.
