    Meeting of the Estates General

    The meeting of the Estates General was the event that led to the ending of the traditional social classes in France. The first Estates General meeting was held in 1302 and the last was in 1789. The Estates meeting was when all of the social classes met to discuss the rankings of classes, the last meeting signaled the end to all social classes.

  • Storming of Bastille

    The storming of Bastille occurred in early July of 1789. Bastille was a prison which had been attacked by a mob in order to steal the ammunition in which it had held. This was seen as a symbol of monarchies dictatorial rule which was the start to the beginning of the French Revolution, meaning that this even played a major part in history and the changes in government.

  • Declaration of Rights of man and citizen

    In August of 1789 the representatives of France organized a National Assembly due to the neglect towards men in previous times, to create a set of rules "sacred rights of man". The Declaration of Rights set standards for human living which changed how people could live their lives by getting more freedom.

  • Gens De Colour Demand Equal rights from France

    In 1789 the Gens De Colour Demanded Equal rights, this was when the African Americans brought up the idea of equal rights for everyone no matter the color of the person. This had an impact on history because it made others aware to the idea of change which would later bring the abolishment of slavery.

  • March on Versailles

    In 1789 a crowd of women marched to Versailles demanding for the bakers to come out with all of their bread because of the starvation lingering within families. The king had promised the crowd that he would handle the situation but instead he fled. This impacted history because it marked the last time that the king would be seen in Versailles.

    In the year of 1791 Saint Domingue was abolished, this would mean that all slavery would be diminished and put to an end. This event brought peace among races and changed how society views others.

    The granting of full French rights happened in 1791 this meant that the African Americans were given the same rights as any of the other members of France, this was caused by the rebellion behavior.   • Beheading of King Louis XIV

    In 1793 King Louis XIV was convicted of conspiracy with foreign powers and a day later was executed using the guillotine. This event helped the French Revolution and weakened the Absolute Monarchy which was present at the time.

    In 1793 the Reign of Terror began; the Government brought terror to suspected enemies and many people were executed and arrested during this period bringing fear to the members of France. The Reign of Terror was one of the major reasons for the rebellion which led to change in social and political structures.

    In 1804 the French army had lost over 50,000 soldiers and admitted defeat to abolishing slavery. The French's defeat impacted history because at that point slavery was put to an end and equality was given to everyone.
  • Napoleon is emperor

    Napoleon had crowned himself king in 1804 and began his reign which consisted of the Napoleonic code and many wars. Napoleons rule led to destruction and would later cause a new political order.
