    The proclamation of 1763 was given to American colonists in 1763. The proclamation prohibited colonists to expand westward past the Appalachian mountains. The proclamation angered colonists because they felt they had the right to move westward in their country. Britain lost protection and support from colonists after bringing forth this proclamation

    Northwest territory was made up of 5 states. These states were Ohio, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Indiana. American colonists gained these states through both the Land Ordinance of 1785 and the Northwest Ordinance of 1787 which validated property rights.

    The Louisiana Purchase occured because Thomas Jefferson feared Napolean would take control over the ports by the Mississipi River. He told Livingston and Monroe to purchase Florida and New Orleans for 10,000 dollars, but in acutallity gained Louisianna terriotory for 15 million dollars.

    The Red River Basin was aquired in 1818 after the Treaty of Ghent. The Treaty of Ghent ended the war of 1812 and gave permission to colonist to take control of the Oregon Territory which includes present day North Dakota and Minnesota.

    In 1818 United States and Great Britain recieved "joint occupation" of Oregon from Russia. In 1837 during the Panic of 1837 people began to come to Oregon through the oregon trail in search for new oppirtunities.

    West and East Florida was gained because Monroe saw many problems with Spanish Florida. Two big problems occured in florida, one was slaves and criminals who escaped couldnt be returned once reaching Florida and Seminole Indians raided bordering towns. Andrew Jackson moved through Florida destroying and capturing Seminole Indians and Spanish forts. Adams bought Florida for 5 million dollars.

    The Webster-Ashburton Treaty was an agreement between America and Britain. This treaty gave over 7,000 square mile of land to Americans and solved many issues. It settled dispute over the Great Lakes and the borders of Canada.

    The Mexican-American war ceased after the Treaty of Guadalupe-Hidalgo and America negotiated for the Gasden Purchase. The gasden purchase was obtained in 1948, this is the boundary between United States and Mexico.

    The mexican cession all started with The Mexican- American war which ended by the treaty of Guadalupe-Hidalgo which was signed to negotiate peace with the government of Mexico. America paid 15 million dollars for the land owned by Mexico.

    The purchase of Hawaii was the last purchase of land made by the United states in 1959. Hawaii became America's 50th state. After the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor in Hawaii during world war 2 they signed and unconditional surrender and Hawaii became a state in America.
