    During the early time of the Mesopotamia civilization around the year 3000 BCE, the Egyptian civilization formed as a another empire for that era and as another culture to help fuel the start of the western civilization. This helped to bring new ideas and thoughts to the world.

    This was the first development of Cuneiform. Cuneiform is when scribes wrote words, pictures, or symbols onto clay tablets. This was their way of keeping records because they did not have a pencil and paper or computers like we have today.

    During this time in Egypt, royal power, such as the pharaohs, reached a new height. Now these leaders seemed as part-god, part-man and they made pyramids during this time to honor them

    Mesopotamia is known for its development of agriculture. During this time they learned how to grow crops more effectively and how to fertilize and irrigate their crops.

    The Bronze Age was critical to the development of civilization as it helped them create stronger militaries and tools. It also opened up trade between the different civilizations.

    The Hittites

    The Hittites were among the first to use iron weapons. The iron weapons changed the game in war and with them using them first, it allowed them to build an empire with military force, setting the tone for many following empires.

    The Phoenicians were the first to use the alphabet and were very skilled tradesmen. The alphabet was a huge addition to civilization as it gave a way for everyone to talk and write using the same words and letters.

    The Assyrian Empire was known for creating the first written language that the world had seen. With this, they were able to talk, write, and trade like never before and this opened a new era where literacy became more important.

    The Iron Age had a very similar impact to the Bronze Age. Iron is a stronger metal that allowed the civilizations to make everything stronger and create new uses for metals.

    Judaism was very important to western civilization as they created a bible and it was deeply rooted in Christianity. Their language helped start the English language that we know today and the religious practices were passed throughout time and many are still used today.
