    My Life

7 events in my life that I think are the most important.
  • Trip to Canada

This trip to Canada, I got to meet all the members on my dad's side. I was always closer to my mom's side seeing as my mom's parents are still alive and they always took care of me when my parents were busy with work and errands. So going to Canada and meeting all of his other relatives was great because I got to learn more about my dad.
  • Trip to Vietnam

This trip to Vietnam is very important to me because I got to see and learn all about my culture. Growing up, I was always told about this place where my parents and grandparents had grown up and how much they loved it there despite all the hardships, it was still special to them. So being able to visit that place and live there for a month was a very great experience, and I also got to meet my mom's side of the family that wasn't living with us in the United States.
  • First Day of School

This was my very first day of school and I was going to be in kindergarten. It was a very exciting but also very scary experience for me since this was the first time where I would be on my own for most of the day. I had never went to preschool because my grandparents had insisted on taking care of me so I didn't have that experience to comfort me.
  • I Become an Older Sister

This was when my little brother, Kevin, was born, and I offically became an older sister. Becoming an older sister was really important because I learned not to be so dependent on my parents because now, they have a new baby to look after and I couldn't have their attention on me all the time like before. Even though at first it was kind of difficult, over time I learned to take on more responsibilities and take care of my brother.
  • Oxford Letter

This was the day when my Oxford letter came home and I learned that I was accepted. I know that almost everyone would probably use this event but it really was important to me because it showed me that when I really wanted something and I put my effort into it, the I could achieve it, like getting accepted into Oxford.
  • 6th Grade Science Camp

This was the first time when I would truly be away from home and by myself. Usually when I traveled, I always had my parents with me, and if not my parents, then probably one of my aunt or uncle with me. However, camp was when I had to take care of everything for myself with no actual parental or guardian guide.
  • My Aunt Dies

Having my aunt die was when I experienced the lost of a person that I was really close to. This particular aunt, I was a lot closer to than my other ones and we had shared a lot together, even the same birthday. When she died of leukemia, I didn't realized how much she meant to me and I never got a chance to tell her that.
