    As France plummets into one of its poorest time, French Peasents were becoming angrier, and angrier as they became hungrier and hungrier. France is split up into 3 estates. The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. the 3rd is starving while the 1st and 2nd are enjoying wealth. The 1st and 2nd estate get all their wealth from the taxes of the 3rd estate.

    France is on the virge of bankruptcy. Many riots are spreading through out France and nobels are afraid of taxes and denouncing. Louis, proceeds to call in the Estates- General, the first meeting since 1614 in french history.

  • The Storming Of Bastille

    The Storming Of Bastille
    More then 800 French gathered outside of a midevil fortress that was converted into a prison known as Bastille. The crowd demanded weapons and gun powder that was stored in the fortress. The commander refused to open the doors and opened fire on the crowd. The people became enraged and stormed the fort. Doing this, they killed 5 guards before killing the commander. However, they found no weapons.

    The Declaration of Rights of Man are written.
    The first step towards writing a constitution was made. This document stated that all men, were born and remain free and equal in rights. It also said that all male CITIZENS were equal. To be equal, you had to own land. No pesant owned land.

    Radicals took control of the assembly. They called it the National convention. The right to vote, was then passed to people with and without land. The king, Louis XVI, is executed.
