The French people were afraid that Louis XVI was going to try to suppress them again. The people of Paris broke into the prison and took the weapons inside of the Bastille. They were to use these weapons to help with if they ever needed to attack the King.
I would say this is important because this was the start of the French people standing up for themselves.

The Declaration of the Rights of the Man was basically the French's way of our Declaration of Independence. The declaration stated things such as, men are born free and should remain free and people are innocent until proven guilty. This made it so that the people had rules to follow and so it would not fall out of control. This is an important event because the people who are protesting the King now are getting more organized.

Poor women marched to Versailles because of the bread scarcity. They brought weapons to use in case they were pushed back. The King had promised to give grain to the city and sign the Declaration of the Rights of Man. The people wanted more so they went into the castle and forced the King to obey to come to Paris.

Joseph-Ignace proposed that all executions should be done by decapitation. The French needed a more human way to kill someone. The idea came up when the National Assembly wanted a way to just kill the person and not inflict unnecessary pain. This was an important event in the French Revolution because the invention was used during and after the revolution and made executions more easier.

King Louis XVI, his queen Marie Antoinette, and their immediate family tried to to escape from Paris, but were caught and brought back. The escape had failed for many reasons, the King kept postponing it, overestimated the support the traditional moratory, and thought that he was getting along with the peasants.
This was important because this attempt provoked charges of treason.

After King Louis XVI had tried to escape, the republican French gathered to protest. 50,000 people went to the Champ de Mars to sign a petition to remove the king, and about 6,000 people had signed it. The National Guard was called and tried to disperse the groups. The groups fought back and threw rocks, the National Guard then opened fire into the group, killing 12 to 50 people.
This was important because even after people being killed, the French still protested.

King Louis XVI was killed by guillotine on January, 21, 1793. This was important because the king was killed, so their was no ruler for a bit in France.

The Royalists sieged the revolutionary's because they were mad that they were excluded from the Directory. Napoleon was watching and he had made a mental note on the other siege when the revolutionary's had captured the king and queen. So in response to the Royalists, Napoleon set up cannons, and even thought he was outnumbered, he was able to defend the area because of his tactics. This was important because after Napoleon had done this, he became more famous, making him wanted.link-khanacademy
