    Tennis Court Oath
    The Tennis Coart Oath was an event where the poeple would not stop meeting until a new constitution was devised. This was entirely against the Will of Kind Louis. This event marked the first rebellious act against the French Monarchy and the start of the Revolution.
  • Storming of the Bastille

    Storming of the Bastille
    The Storming of the Bastille was the first mass raid of the revolution. This was an essential event that put the revolutionaries into a position where they would be physically capable to go through the revolution. It also where the French Flag was created which created a sense of unity amongst the 3rd Estate
  • Declaration of the Rights of Man

    Declaration of the Rights of Man
    The Declaration of the Rights of Man was the first consitution of France that rendered everyone as equals. Class distinctions were abolished and free press and speech was demanded. This is significant because this Declaration was the first constituion of France, and first constituion ever to allow all individuals, even slaves, to be free.
  • March to Versailles

    March to Versailles
    This was one of the earliest and one of the most significant events in the Revolution. It was when a very large group of armed women gathered together to storm the Palace at Versailles to (violently) protest the prices of bread. The women had killed all the guards and completely destroyed Marie Antoinette's bedroom. This is significant because this march was the first really violent protest against the royals and monarchy. This violence earlier on may be what promoted the later to come.

    Attacks on the Prisons
    In the fall on 1792, French Revolutionaries made the decision to kill as many French Royalists in the prisons as possible. They killed 1600. These actions the revolutionaries took greatly angered anit-revolutionaries and supported the idea that the French Revolution was violent and out of hand. This image and ealry behaviors of the Revolution would later create a terror that would run through France.

    Louis's Trial
    Louis trial was simply his trial for high treason and execution. Louis' Death by the guillotine was a massive victory for the French Revolution because it abolished the figure head that embodied and old government that the Revolution was trying to destroy.
  • The Terror

    The Terror
    (Actually a time period Sep 5, 1793-July 28, 1794)
    The Terror was a time of violent repression under the rule of Robespierre. The "Uncorruptable" began using violent methods to deal with the problems and issues he had. The slightest of things said against his rule would immediately put you to the guillotine. Under this rule the Declaraiton of Rights was suspended. This was counter productive to what the Revolution set out to do and that was to free the people and the press.
  • Robespierre's Death

    Robespierre's Death
    Right after he called for the Great Terror and said that there were traitors to the revolution, but did not state who, he prompted an uproar. Robespierre's Terrors were awful and counter productive to the revolution. The death toll was massive, and many revolutionaries were killed from other revolutionaries. This death of Robespierre marked the end of the guillotine in France and the Terror.
